Medieval Fair - A Coruna

Hear thee, hear thee...The Old Town has been transformed back to Medieval times for 5 days featuring over 200 stalls, donkey rides and a geese herder! Below I’ve added some photos that I took as I pottered around the fair.

This was taken at the beginning of the fair, there are lots of banners throughout the streets and you'll see more in the other pictures.
One of the streets at the beginning of the fair, this was taken on day 3 of the fair and there seemed to be plenty of people around.
Medieval food, spices and tea!

Donkeys
Geese
A pair of exceptionally large shoes.
Whilst sipping a mojito a band came passing by...

The biggest block of cheese I've ever seen.

and finally...
with already a shot taken...hehe.

I really enjoyed the fair, there seems to be several around the region and I visited another fair a few weeks ago where there was magic Sangria! (I searched, but there was none here so Crema de Oruxo did just fine)

Roller Derby - Yay or Nay?

So I’m thinking of joining Roller Derby, I found out that there is a team here in A Coruna, so I’ve emailed to see about joining! Part of me is YAY Roller Derby, looks like fun, something I would enjoy and is a great way of meeting new people...the other part of me is NAY I’m gonna end up having a horrific incident involving my ankle hanging off my leg. I’ll think I’ll risk it though!

Now I need a Roller Derby name...hmm do I go for something with “D” in it like D-lightful Assassin or something completely different that’s just a play on words...I’m open to all suggestions so if you have any please leave a comment!

I’ll keep you posted on how I get on! (“Break a leg” in this case is not applicable)

Why I’m a TEFL Teacher

One day, whilst sat at my desk in the office I just thought “I don’t want this anymore” I want to travel and see/experience lots of different things and just...LIVE. I’ve been through enough to know that life is simply too short and I want to start doing things now. So, I did my TEFL course, looked for a TEFL job in various locations around the world (came across a few scams also) and then was offered a job over here – A Coruna, Galicia, North West Spain.

I’ve just completed my first  year teaching English and I love it, I don’t regret packing my job in at all, I was a slave to my job and although when I was younger I thrived on the work and the pressure...it’s just not me anymore. Of course, I miss the office banter, my colleagues and the pay but all in all, I much prefer this lifestyle.

I’m staying another year here and then who knows?
